コップが倒れたことが不幸だという感覚を、二歳児が既に持っているのか。
この実験、こうは考えられないか。
母親が読書して放置されて遊んでいる場合は、子供は母親を見ていない。
母親が一部の子供を甘やかしている場合、子供は母親を見ている。
そして、コップを倒したのを見て、不幸ではなく単純に面白がった。
放置された子供は見ていないので特に気にしなかった。

申し訳ないが、論文 [plos.org]をざっと読んでみたが、コップを倒して水をこぼすことをなぜ不幸だとみなしてよいのか、分からなかった。
解説をお願い。

査読も権威もあるかもしれないけど、だからってそのまま信じこむわけにもいかないでしょう。
当たり前に出てくる疑問だと思うので、どうやってそれをクリアしてるのか気になります。

完全に同感。
盲目的に信じろと言うつもりはないが、
専門外の論文を読んで理解できないのは、理解の前提となる知識なりを持ち合わせていないと考えるのが自然で、
いきなり論文の論理にけちをつけ始めるのは唐突過ぎる。
